Small Parts, Big Impact: Veco at MD&M Anaheim 2017

Feb 20, 2017 11:18:39 AM By Scott Aitken

February 2017, Anaheim, CA and Veco BV brought their blend of high technology and manufacturing expertise to show at the World’s largest annual Medtech event. In the heartland of Disney it wasn’t just the famous mouse getting the “oooohs” and “aaaahs”.

Medtech moves fast. Medical device manufacturers need to take their projects from concept to market in as short a time as possible, engaging with cutting edge high technology companies to help them realise their vision as quickly and cost effectively as possible.

The Solution Providers

Anaheim was a three day show, providing over 20 hours of face to face interaction between the three of us representing Veco BV and an array of over 22 000 visitors to the more than 2200 exhibitors. For me there is no other feeling like having this 1:1 interaction with the designers, the engineers, the visionaries, and yes, the dreamers. One minute you are talking to a pioneering designer of innovative micro-surgical tools, and the next a young entrepreneur looking to launch a disruptive technology on to the coffee brewing market! I get a thrill to talk to these creative minds, and a rush of adrenaline when I realise that we, as Veco, can help them to realise their ambitions with our Electroforming and Photo Etching capabilities. We help them with the design, prototyping, and indeed the manufacture of their needs for our precision metal parts.

For this show we had a new set-up, our Marketers had been hard at work re-designing our stand and how we display our products to get across the message of what we do, and how we can help the Medical Device Designers and Manufacturers. We also had our new team, recruited to provide more than 35 years’ experience between us. Our eye-catching display showing our orifice plate embedded within an innovative nebulizer certainly drew admiring glances and much discussion.

Overall, a busy event for Veco, after 3 days we were ready for a rest, but now we have a lot of exciting new projects to work on with new customers ready to drive their businesses forward with our help and support!

We will see you all at Boston BIOMEDevice May 3-4, 2017!
